Peaceful and Quiet

eyeOf course I feel like this a lot of the time! But most of the time it is very peaceful and quiet. I typically say it’s total chaos even when it’s not… LOL

Today was a very quiet day, It was mostly just me and nobody else. I actually got a lot of work done without anyone being there.

Tomorrow I’m hopping it’s just like that again. I haven’t really been in the office in a week so it gave me time to catch up on the paperwork and plan what I need to be doing.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a new day and it’s a productive one!

It’s been a Photo Saturday

pictureToday my wife and I went through all of our photos… damn I didn’t realize we had so many. We probably have over 20 albums full, but that is through out our lives. I look back to my mother and growing up we may have had a total of 3, all I can remember is 2. There is entire years that there is not photo of me. I’m sure someone has them but my mother or grandmother does not. I guess because I love photography I’m always taking pictures of everyone. My kids can say that there are photos from every month of their lives. We also bought every school picture, twice a year I think.

I have most of the photos electronically as well so if anything were to ever happen we could always get additional copies.

Throw Back Thursday

richard17Here is me at 3 or 4 with Santa. Damn I was a good lookin’ kid! LOL

I’m doing my office with pictures I’ve taken and one of the 20 x 24 frames I have I’m doing a collage of all the photos that bring back a flood of memories when I look at them. Most are going to be photos that other family members have taken but I’m the one creating the photo.

Clams For Dinner

downloadI’ve ate clams before but we have never cooked any clams. So for everything there is a first huh?

I’ve discovered that when most people make a mistake they won’t admit up to it. I found a major screw up in our webinars and nobody seems to have done it. It’s now just one mistake but one that has been made about 30 times. The person who did it knows they did it but keeps blaming everyone else. The sad thing is I work with a couple people like that.

I bought some photos from J.C. Penny’s on a disc and now Walmart is giving me grief about printing them. WTF, I’ve already had some printed through Walgreen’s with no problem. Some 18 year old, jackass, virgin, little cock sucking clerk interprets copyright incorrectly and want to bust my ass. Well FUCK OFF Walmart, many places prints photos. That is just one of the reason I try to avoid that jackass of a some. Beside it dumb-ass employees and the way Walmart treats it employee, especially women, I think it’s a store for 3 world countries. ~ sorry I’ll calm down now.

Well after 20 minutes of explaining to them hey finally understood and gave me my pictures. I do understand copyright laws and I understand Walmart position in making sure they are not violated, but teach your employees how they work! OH THERE IS AN IDEA … TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES!

Wow… I hope the rest of the days goes a little smoother! I’m going to take me a pain pill, drink a few beers, and maybe have a shot or two … kick back and relax! Maybe with any luck some sex will be involved.

Photography

I think photography is my number 1 hobby. Photography lets you capture an image of something that will be around long after you have gone. It’s a moment in history that you have preserved. I sometimes think, will someone look at one of my photos and wonder what the subject was thinking or what the photographer was thinking when they took the photo?

I sometimes wonder what the subject was looking at. Are they looking at the photographer or a loved one off in the background? I wonder where they are at and who else was there when the photographer clicked the shutter.  Even in the old paintings I catch myself wondering about this. I guess because I look at some of mine and remember the story of the photo happening. In one photo as soon as I clicked the button a fight broke out. When I look at that photo that is what I’m seeing… the moment before the fight. Others will look at the photo and thing, oh that’s a great family photo, “What a perfect family”.

Then I look at the odd photo that were staged. The ones where we are looking goofy or mad. The ones that we acted as if we were going to hit someone, or jump off something. Is people in our future going to look at those and be going WTF?

I think that is what draws me to photography. It’s the documenting of my family for generations to come. My great-great-great grand-kids will have thousands of photos to look at and try to know us. Unfortunately I’m not in most of the photos, I’m always on the other side of the camera.

In some of my family photos when I was growing up I’ll see a picture at 5 then another at 9. What happened in the 4 years in between? Or I think of an old car or motorcycle I owned but there is not 1 single photo of it ever happening.

Maybe I’m unique or odd but if I had to choose 1 hobby over all it would be photography.

Getting Back Into the Masonic Lodge

masonic_symbol_shimmering_md_whtAlright, after 20 years I’m getting back into the Masonic Lodge. I joined 20 years ago but then really haven’t done anything with it in over 20 years. I guess after so long I have to start completely over and start again. I really don’t mind I haven’t got that far along that I can’t do it but damn I wish I would have continued on and stuck with it. Hindsight is always 20/20 isn’t it.

So tomorrow I have a class and I’m going to teach it from home. Tomorrow will be a GREAT Day…at least I’m hoping. LOL

Good Work Day!

IMG_3946Today was a good workday. We got the bench finished, got the front part of the garage cleaned out, and a lot of things organized. I’m happy with what we got done today. Tomorrow I want to get some photos and clean the rest of garage… I don’t think anybody else wants to help but they have no choice. LOL

Faith is gone to Georgia with Bob and Rhonda. It seem so weird not to have her around here. I’ll be glad when next week get’s here and she is home!

Here is the bench, Shannon painted the cast iron inserts teal and then we touched up the white again. The bench was a trash pickup so with $9.00 for the new wood, and about $5 for the paint we have a new $14 bench that looks great! Shannon did a great job painting it and Richie added the new boards. ~Thanks Shannon and Richie!
