Finally I’m Feeling Better!

Wow…I’m finally feeling better! I’ve felt like shit since the end of April! So for a full 2 months I’ve been sick. I went to a few doctors before one finally sent me to the hospital to find out what was wrong with me. I really feel like suing the first two doctors just because they didn’t do a better job and find out what was wrong with me. I don’t think they really tried.

Severely infected kidney stones! I think I’ve been in the hospital a total of 6 or 7 days, I’ve had two stints put into me, and I’ve been under anesthesiology twice now. I’ve had two catheters in me, and the Doctor pulled the stint out today!

I really have to say that Dr. Naga was a great urologist! I usually don’t give to many recommendations on here but he’s in Spring Hill, (Brooksville) Florida. (352) 592-7779. Very good doctor and he’s got a good sense of humor. 5 stars for Dr. Naga!

Bearded Men of The World Unite!

beard_factsSee we all know that anyone who wears a beard is like super cool. I didn’t want to be the one to mention this so here is a graphic that says it all… Bearded people of the world unite! So anytime you see a handsome bearded man he needs a great big hug!

Family and Friends

We had a nice birthday today with a lot of family and friends over. We had great food and spent some great time with family. I would love to be able to afford doing that once per month or so but unfortunately I cant. But it’s great when we can!

VA Benefits

I found out today because I was in the military from May 1984 – March 1988 I qualify for VA Benefits. I’ve been out of the US Army for 26 years and nobody has ever mentioned any VA Benefits before. I was talking to a student in class and he mentioned that he was in for 3 years and qualify for VA. Why hasn’t anyone else ever mentioned this before? Is it like TOP SECRET?

Well I may have just found out but I plan on taking full advantage of them now. Why not, everyone else seems to take advantage of everything the government has to offer. I guess when I was in the benefits go for lifetime. Someone said they only go for 5 years now once you end your service time. YAY…maybe this will be a score for me! lol

Netflix or Hulu Plus

We’ve been using Netflix for a couple of years and I’m OK with it but my sons tell me that Hulu Plus is much better. We’re running a test for the next month to see which one is actually the best, according to us 3. If Netflix is better will stick with that but if 2 out of 3 go with Hulu we are switching. It’s about the same price so no biggie one way or another.

So we are doing a test, so we shall see… the democratic way! (by vote)

Always Something

money_cant_buyI had a great class today… even though it was a required class, which means it’s all the mandatory modules that the licensing boards force us into taking. It can only be so fun but I always try to do the best I can do to make it enjoyable for the students.

I teach again Saturday, exam prep, here in Hudson. Not a real big deal but it is an all day class and it doesn’t pay anything extra for it. Then Monday I have to teach a Georgia Webinar and the room only holds 49 people in it. I really don’t want to cut anyone off and them miss their Continuing Education. But, after all that I should have a nice 4 day weekend next weekend so I’m sort of looking foreword that.

My stint comes out next Wednesday at 1pm at the doctors office. It’s a week away and I’m already stressing over it. Being away and have the stint pulled out of my peter is nothing to get excited about. lol

Getting Stronger Everyday

IMG_3802OK, I’ve been out of the hospital now for 4 days and each day I feel myself getting better and stronger. It’s been a tough 6 weeks but the stones are busted up and I think are passing OK. I’ve got some pain medication and everyone has been a great help. My family really is the best.

My son went to work with me today to help me with the equipment and setup. He had to set there all day and really do nothing, but he gained a lot of respect from me today. He did it because he knew I was hurting. My youngest son would have done it as well but his wrist is broken and there is only so much he can do. My wife has been my savior, she helps me with everything and never complains. I was even waking her up in the middle of the night to help me up. She’s never complained about anything I’ve asked her to do, from getting me a drink to rubbing my legs. I love her so much… Thank You Shannon!

Energy Saving Ideas for Vehicles

1. Always check the tire pressure
2. Make sure the air filter is clean
3. Avoid idling. Think about it — idling gets you 0 miles per gallon.
4. Avoid aggressive driving, such as speeding, rapid acceleration, and hard braking, which can lower your highway gas mileage by up to 33% and your city mileage by 5%.
5. Avoid high speeds. Above 60 mph, gas mileage drops rapidly. For every 5 mph above 60 mph, it’s like paying an additional $0.30 per gallon of gasoline.
6. Avoid keeping heavy items in your car; an extra 100 pounds in your vehicle could increase your gas costs by up to $.08 cents per gallon.
7. Combine errands when possible.
8. Use the grade of motor oil your car’s manufacturer recommends. Using a different motor oil can lower your gas mileage by 1%-2%.
9. Get regular maintenance checks to avoid fuel economy problems due to worn spark plugs, dragging brakes, sagging belts, low transmission fluid, or transmission problems.
10. Park in the shade on sunny days to keep vehicle cool, and use windshield reflector.

It’s just another Tuesday!

OK… I love Tacos and every Tuesday want Taco Tuesdays but I think I’m the only one in my family who really loves Tacos!  Tacos with some chips and salsa, maybe some re-fried beans, and rice… how can anyone go wrong with a dinner like that … !

Well a nice t bone steak with some shrimp and baked potato does sound awesome but for the price. We are the poor people, we eat veggie stew while everyone else eats steak. PBJ and soup sound GREAT as well. lol

I told Shannon, my wife, that we’d eat at Coney Island Hot Dog over in Brooksville tonight. The only downside is there is 5 of us and it’s about $10 – $12 each. So it’s an Easy $60 for all of us to travel over there and eat hot dogs. I always cringe about the price but usually has a great time and really enjoy the food.

Great…just heard that our renter is out of there July 1st so we’re not getting any rent for the month of June. Just another $641 I’m going to have to come up with each month. FML
